The purpose of this study was to clarify the extent to which elderly people have difficulties in mobility, and determine their association with socioeconomic factors, dwelling environment and use of services. The study groups were composed of two random samples of 800 persons aged 65–74 and 75–84, respectively. In all, 1224 non- institutionalized persons (80%) were interviewed at home. The respondents were asked to assess their ability to get about the house, negotiate stairs and walk outdoors, as well as manage certain physical exercise tasks. In this article the external advice sought by small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is analysed through a survey carried out to evaluate the impact of the work done by consultants and to determine the degree of satisfaction with Spanish consulting firms. We will examine the effect of management consulting firms on SMEs when an external consultant offers the consulting service. Research was carried out into companies that could potentially seek the services of an adviser by asking them if they considered the results of the adviser's project and its quality to be useful.
Family carers and lack of personal time: Descriptions of being outside the sphere of formal help

The aim of this article is to study manifestations of uncomfortable familial commitments. The connection of such commitments to informal family carers' descriptions of problems in accessibility of services and to descriptions of preferences regarding limited use of formal help is examined. The data consists of 21 qualitative interviews of Finnish persons who, alongside their gainful employment, cared for their parent(s).
